Curriculum Enrichment
Wider curriculum opportunities and Cultural Capital
At St Maxentius our curriculum extends beyond the National Curriculum and includes a wide range of enriching experiences and opportunities both within and beyond the school day. This includes a wide range of before and after school clubs, that support the core curriculum offer , as well as developing other specialist skills such as Jujitsu, whilst also extending the children’s experiences.

Whole School Themed days/ weeks
Throughout the year, themed days / weeks are woven into the curriculum to extend the breadth and balance of opportunities we offer children. These include :Anti - Bullying, World Book Day, National Poetry Day, Science days, Road Safety week, British Values and many more!

Educational Visits and residential
School trips and visits are an integral part of the curriculum at St Maxentius Primary School. We value the opportunities and character building skills these visits offer and want all our children to experience them. Trips include class visits aimed at bringing learning to life and providing first hand experiences for the children. Children in Year 6 will be offered the opportunity of a residential trip where they will experience activities such as climbing, abseiling, archery and many more.

Visitors into school
Visitors have a valuable role to play and can contribute to many aspects of the life and work of the school. They deliver inspirational talks, workshops and activities across a wide range of subjects again giving children access to expertise and first hand experiences.
